Over the past decade, Faustin Linyekula has been telling stories of the Congo. Stories of bodies and destines, raped and abused, irreparably marked by the great History. But how could we, only for a moment, leave aside the words to talk about a body’s memory? How to discover what was it like to dance a little before, or just after the words; a little before or just after the cry; a little before or just after the History? In this way, in search of himself, Linyekula sets off to look for movements that are no longer used: prohibited dances by the Gods of Miracle and Spiritual Awakening.
