tReta, a performative invasion
ORIGINAL TITLE: tReta, uma invasão performática
ARTISTA: Original Bomber Crew
50 min | Age Rating: 14+

19 and 20/3, Wednesday and Thursday, 7pm
PLACE: Centro Cultural São Paulo
SYNOPSIS
This work is a conflict, an explosion, a premeditated act designed to engage the
other. The many tretas (clashes) experienced daily by each individual served as the
foundation for the Original Bomber Crew’s creative process —clashes with
neighbors, politics, colonialism, patriarchy, and breaking battles. The group
reinterprets spaces, much like the way marginalized youth occupy the streets,
performing alongside the audience in a dense, metallic, and urban sensory
atmosphere. Dança-quebrada (broken dance), as these artists call their
transformation of reality through hip-hop and contemporary art, emerges as a poetic survival strategy despite the systemic disposability imposed on their bodies.
BACKGROUND
Original Bomber Crew is a collective dedicated to hip-hop culture, research, and
production. Founded in 2005, it has become a key reference in Brazil’s Northeast for its work in training and creating street dance, performances, battles, urban
interventions, festivals, and workshops. Since 2017, the group has been in residence at CAMPO Arte in collaboration with Casa de Produção REVOADA, acting as a space for intersection with other artists, disciplines, and contemporary research. The group is currently touring with tReta, a Performative Invasion, Preto Correndo, and VAPOR: Infiltrative Occupation.
CRITICAL RECEPTION
“Some performances push us toward philosophical reflection or even demand a firm stance in these unsettling times. It is a sad but harsh reality that global inequality has only grown systematically, and tReta is a call not to accept this passively.” Javier López Piñón, Theaterkrant
“What Original Bomber Crew achieves is a foundation that lingers in every moment, scene, and performance: the anticipation of the unknown. In an urban setting, this anticipation takes the form of fear—fear of every street corner, every broken streetlamp, every stranger who refuses to look away. tReta—and its name says it all—reinforces the collapse of civilization through the aggressive social dynamics we navigate daily.” Ruy Filho, Antro Positivo
