PARALLEL PROGRAMMES
During MITsp, in addition to its own programme, the festival contributes to the activation of various performances and activities related to the performing arts in the city of São Paulo. Parallel exhibitions and programmes take place simultaneously, expanding the spaces for circulation and encounters between artists, audiences, researchers, producers and managers.
This context forms a network of contacts and promotes the performing arts, strengthening the national scene and its internationalisation processes, with the presence of programmers from various Brazilian states and other countries.
Check out the simultaneous programme:
at iBT – Instituto Brasileiro de Teatro
The institute presents the Mostra Perspectiva [Perspectiva Exhibition], with works starring artists with disabilities, placing historically invisible bodies, narratives and aesthetics at the centre of the stage. Through shows and performances, the project broadens ways of seeing and creating, as well as valuing diversity as artistic power and promoting encounter, listening and social transformation.
at the Instituto Capobianco
The Mostra Capobianco [Capobianco Exhibition] brings together four relevant works from the contemporary national scene, presented during the artistic residencies held by the Capobianco Institute. With works by Mundana Companhia, Núcleo Bartolomeu de Depoimentos and Núcleo Olho, by Janaína Leite, the initiative reaffirms the institution’s role in promoting Brazilian performing arts and encouraging research into theatrical language.

Expanded Criticism
In addition to the official MITsp coverage carried out by Prática da Crítica, other partners join the production of texts about the festival’s performances, broadening perspectives, voices, and formats, challenging the idea of criticism as a single or authorized record, and opening space for diverse viewpoints that engage with the program from different backgrounds and experiences.
This network of collaborators helps build a plural critical field, in which thought is not limited to evaluation but unfolds into reflection, process analysis, historical contextualization, and connections with contemporary debates—reaffirming criticism as a living practice, shaped by disputes, affections, and positions, and understood as a constitutive part of the theatrical event itself.
