WITH Stefan Kaegi

SYNOPSIS

How can scripts be structured and documentary experiences “packaged” in a way that is finely tuned to the individual spectator? Welcome to the gray zone between reality and fiction, game and narrative. Let documentary materials and theatrical ainterventions draw you into complex themes, such as the global arms trade or the Brazilian police. In this conversation, Stefan Kaegi will present and comment on short videos from recent Rimini Protokoll productions, including one featuring 500 spectators dancing in front of a mirror, as well as reenactment strategies involving international arms dealers and a humanoid robot suspended by cables.

BACKGROUND

Stefan Kaegi lives between the Swiss mountains and Berlin, producing documentary theater and creating works in public spaces through a wide range of collaborative partnerships. Together with Helgard Haug and Daniel Wetzel, he co-produces works under the label Rimini Protokoll. Through research, public auditions, and conceptual processes, the group gives voice to “experts” who are not necessarily professionally trained actors.
