In this free adaptation of The Seagull by Russian playwright Anton Chekhov (1860\u20131904), five actresses intimately and viscerally embody the play\u2019s central characters. Argentine director Guillermo Cacace brings forth their tragic essence, highlighting the core of the scenes and incorporating the passage of time into the cadence and rhythm of the dialogues. Seated around a table, the performers take on the roles of Arkadina, Kostia, Nina, Trigorin, and Masha. It is through Masha\u2019s perspective that the story unfolds: in this version, with dramaturgy by Juan Ignacio Fern\u00e1ndez, it is Masha who attempts to piece together the fragments of a tale marked by unrequited love, shattered dreams, and the lingering pain accumulated over the years.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Guillermo Cacace is an Argentine director, actor, and professor. He teaches at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes, is a member of the Metropolitan School of Dramatic Arts, and runs Apacheta Sala\/Estudio, an independent space where he teaches, rehearses, and presents his projects. His work, both nationally and internationally, has earned him prestigious awards such as the Trinidad Guevara, Radio France International, Florencio S\u00e1nchez, Teatros del Mundo, ACE, and Mar\u00eda Guerrero. Among his most recent works are Ser\u00eda una Pena que se Marchiten las Plantas, Gaviota, Mi Hijo S\u00f3lo Camina un Poco M\u00e1s Lento, and Parias.
