led by Renato Ihu explores how gestures, dances, and music function as forms of transmitting ancestral knowledge and memory. The sessions draw from research dedicated to the study of Afro-Brazilian cultural expressions as a foundation for understanding civilizational values and the dynamics of the Afro-Atlantic diaspora in Brazil\u2019s Southeast region. Participants are invited to deepen their study of manifestations such as the jongos of the Para\u00edba Valley, the batuques de umbigada of western S\u00e3o Paulo, and the congados of Minas Gerais, analyzing their relationships to contemporary artistic expressions and to ethnoracial education in the fields of music, dance, and theater.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-63bb841f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"63bb841f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3><strong>BACKGROUND<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Renato Ihu is a researcher, percussionist, video editor, and arts educator with more than 30 years of work dedicated to safeguarding and promoting African-rooted cultures, with an emphasis on Brazil\u2019s Southeast region (jongo, batuque de umbigada, and congada).
