    SYNOPSIS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    German director Thomas Ostermeier and French writer \u00c9douard Louis reflect, moderated by Luis Felipe Reis, on the aesthetic and dramaturgical choices as well as the political and autobiographical dimensions that shape their theatrical collaboration. The two have worked together on the productions History of Violence and Who Killed My Father<\/em>, both presented in this edition of MITsp.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    BACKGROUND<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Thomas Ostermeier<\/strong> has been resident director and member of the artistic direction of the Schaub\u00fchne since 1999. He graduated in directing from the Hochschule f\u00fcr Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch and served as artistic director of the Baracke at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. He has directed productions at the M\u00fcnchner Kammerspiele, the Edinburgh Festival, the Burgtheater in Vienna, and the Com\u00e9die-Fran\u00e7aise in Paris. In 2004, he became an associate artist of the Festival d\u2019Avignon. He received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Biennale (2011), as well as the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Kythera Culture Prize (both in 2018).<\/p>\n

    \u00c9douard Louis<\/strong> is a French writer. Born Eddy Bellegueule, he studied sociology with Didier Eribon at the \u00c9cole Normale Sup\u00e9rieure in Paris. His debut autobiographical novel, The End of Eddy (2014), became a number-one bestseller in France and was translated into 18 languages. His second novel, History of Violence<\/em>, was published in 2017, followed by Who Killed My Father<\/em>. He received the Pierre Gu\u00e9nin Prize for his engagement against homophobia.<\/p>\n

    Luiz Felipe<\/strong> Reis is a director, playwright, curator, journalist, and holds an MA in Literature from PUC-Rio. Co-founder of Polif\u00f4nica, he investigates staging procedures through the concepts of Scenic Polyphony and Counter-scenes to the Anthropocene. His works include Estamos indo embora<\/em> (2015), Amor em dois atos<\/em> (2016), GAL\u00c1XIAS <\/em>(2018), Tudo que brilha no escuro <\/em>(2020), VISTA<\/em> (2023), DESERTO<\/em> (2024), and EDDY<\/em> \u2013 violence & metamorphosis<\/em> (2025), created from the work of \u00c9douard Louis.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
